How does your software ensure the security and privacy of our data and communications?
When you use PeerPad, it's a little like using an app like WhatsApp or Signal that encrypts messages end-to-end. The difference with PeerPad is that in addition to being able to send messages, you can also collaborate in real time on more complex things like documents. Making that work in practice is not straightforward to explain, but roughly speaking when you enter a keystroke in a document in PeerPad, that action gets encrypted and broadcast to the people you're collaborating with, and the PeerPad instance on their devices figures out how to read the message and inject your keystroke in the right place.
What platforms is PeerPad compatible with?
Right now, PeerPad is only available for Mac. We'll be launching a Windows version very soon.

When you're collaborating with people you trust, it's important to know they are who they say they are. In the real world, we identify ourselves with our faces and bodies. Online, it's not so easy. Most of the work is done by techniques known as public key cryptography, however to make that work in practice there's a crucial step that needs to be done which is to connect a real-world identity to a public key. The net result is that you can be sure when Enso says you're interacting with a specific person, it really is that person.
